No. A meaningful share of VSS athletes are preparing for their first meet. What matters is the intent to train seriously and the willingness to follow a plan.

A competition-standard barbell, plates to your working weight, a squat rack, bench, and a platform or pulling surface. Specialty bars help but are not required.

Every application is read by the founder. You will hear back within 48 hours with either an onboarding call invitation or an honest note about fit.

Coaching is primarily remote with video review. In-person sessions and meet-day handling are available for athletes in the Sovereign tier.
